Chisora, 38, who was twice beaten by the Gypsy King, said that he thought Joshua would be able to beat his former foe.
The Zimbabwean-born British fighter said to talkSPORT radio: “I’ll go with AJ. AJ’s power punch is unbelievable.
“If AJ fights Fury, he has to go on him straight away, blast him out. He can’t box him. If he boxes with him, he loses. If you give Fury time on the ball then you’re in trouble.”
But Tyson, 33, was not impressed with the remarks made by Chisora.
The WBC champion said in a video: “This is a message to Derek Chisora, I’ve just seen that you said you think AJ would blast me out. Never in a million years.
“If the biggest puncher in history couldn’t blast me out and Wladimir Klitschko couldn’t blast me out, a big old bodybuilder can’t blast me out, my friend.”
Discussions about a potential bout between Joshua and Fury has been going on for years. The pair had arranged to fight on August 14 in Saudi Arabia in what should have been the first-ever four-belt heavyweight undisputed title fight.
But owing to Tyson’s contractual obligations with Deontay Wilder, the bout was cancelled.
Fury went on to beat the US fighter, knocking him down in the 11th-round.
Two weeks later AJ was beaten by Oleksandr Usyk, 34, on points, with a rematch scheduled for April.
And Chisora said the Brit can win this time if his approach is right.

He said: “I think AJ wins that second time round.
“When I spoke to him I asked him if he watched the fight back, he said he only watched four rounds because he didn’t like the way he boxed.
“I asked him what he was going to do [in the rematch], he said: ‘You’ll see.’”
But Fury said that Joshua is unlikely to come out on top.
He said: “So Del, he ain’t got the bottle to fight Usyk again. Usyk will smash him next time, properly.
“Never mind beat him on points, he’ll knock him out. But listen, it only takes one man like me.
“There’s only ever been one man on these shores, and he’s called the Gypsy King, AKA Tyson Fury.”
