Transfer news LIVE! Chelsea eye double deal; Arsenal told Gakpo price; Spurs ahead of Juve in Zaniolo race

Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea continue to be among the most active clubs in Europe during this summer’s transfer window. While Thomas Tuchel risks losing another target – namely Jules Kounde – to Barcelona after having been snubbed by Raphinha, the Blues boss is ready to move on another big defensive name. Wesley Fofana of Leicester City is understood to have emerged as a serious option for the club and could arrive as part of a double deal amid interest in Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries.

Over at Arsenal, Cody Gakpo continues to be linked with a move to the Emirates. Mikel Arteta was another manager turned down by Raphinha and has not since added to his wide options, with the PSV Eindhoven star thought to be on the club’s radar.

Meanwhile, there’s only one big name being linked with Tottenham after their big summer spend. Indeed, Spurs have reportedly moved ahead of Juventus in the race to sign Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo as Antoni Conte eyes one more big signing. Follow all of the latest news, gossip and rumours below!

Chelsea still open to Barcelona deals

With Raphinha and potentially Jules Kounde having been stolen from under their noses, it might be reasonable to expect Chelsea to harbour some ill-feeling toward Barcelona.

Still, Spanish oultlet Sport claim the Blues are still open to thrashing out deals with the Camp Nou giants, with Barca retaining an interest in both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.

West Ham told to increase Piotr Zielinski offer

West Ham seem happy to spend big this summer as David Moyes prepares for another season of European football.

While Jesse Lingard opted to move elsewhere, the Hammers have coughed up big fees for both Nayef Aguerd and Gianluca Scamacca and retain an interest in Lille’s Amadou Onana, as well as Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic.

Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski, meanwhile, is believed to be another rather eye-catching target.

Still, according to Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, the east London club have offered around £25m for the midfielder, while Napoli are looking for closer to £37m.

Chelsea eye sensational move for Harry Kane

Harry Kane looks happy at Tottenham at the moment amid reports the England captain could yet sign a fresh deal.

Given his situation at Spurs this time last year, that is a remakable turnaround in fortunes.

So then, reports from German outlet BILD prove surprising. While Bayern Munich have made their interest public, the outlet suggest Chelsea are seen as rivals to sign the forward in what would be one of the most contorversial transfers of all-time.

Difficult to see now of course but Kane is into the final two years of his contract and will be in a very strong position to decide his future next season.

Cody Gakpo: Price revealed for Arsenal target

While Marquinhos has arrived to pad out Arsenal’s options on the wing, Mikel Arteta is yet to revisit that department since he was snubbed by Raphinha.

Indeed, the fact the Gunners boss tried to sign the Brazilian would suggest he’s still keen on attacking options despite signing Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira too.

PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo has been touted as a target and noted transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has now revealed the Dutchman’s asking price.

“PSV Eindhoven are hoping to keep him and his price tag has always been around €40-45m (around £33.5m to £38m)m,” he told Caught Offisde.

“He may be a name to monitor in the coming weeks as a big opportunity for many clubs.

“But PSV manager Ruud van Nistelrooy hopes to keep him at the club.”

Nicolo Zaniolo: Tottenham move ahead of Juventus in race to sign Roma star

Nicolo Zaniolo is pretty much the only name linked with Tottenham after a busy summer window for the club.

The Roma star is expected to leave the Italian capital following the arrival of Paulo Dybala, with both Tottenham and Juventus said to be tracking him.

On that front, good news has emerged for Spurs supporters.

Tuttosport claim the north London club have moved ahead of Juve in the race to the sign the 23-year-old.

Arsenal handed Paqueta boost

Arsenal have been handed a potential boost over Lucas Paqueta.

Gunners technical director Edu recently admitted his admiration for his fellow Brazilian, but insisted no transfer was being considered.

However, that stance could feasibly chance after Lyon’s head of recruitment, the former Liverpool midfielder Bruno Cheyrou, admitted that the club need to cut nymbers.

“We need to reduce the squad size. In terms of departures, we will analyse offers on a case-by-case basis but the economics will come into consideration,” he said.

“We will consider the offers with Jean-Michel Aulas and Vincent Ponsot in order to make the best decisions. I am here to ensure the best team possible, but there are other things to take into account as well.”

Chelsea make move for Dumfries

Here’s the latest on Chelsea’s defender pursuit from Standard Sport’s Nizaar Kinsella….

Chelsea are switching focus to Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries after frustration in their bid to sign Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

The Blues’ bid fell slightly short of Kounde’s asking price and they are reluctant to go further for the 23-year-old who Thomas Tuchel was initially unsure about.

Barcelona have now taken over as favourites to win the France international’s signature, with an approach that mirrors the hijacking of Chelsea’s bid for Raphinha, but they currently also remain short of the asking price.

Chelsea have missed out on key targets with Bayern Munich beating them in the race for Matthijs de Ligt and after Manchester City blocking their £45million approach for Nathan Ake.

Inter need to sell one major player this summer and Chelsea have looked at both Milan Skriniar, the centre-back, and wing-back Dumfries.

Chelsea want Fofana deal

Wesley Fofana is being strongly linked with a move to Chelsea once again this morning.

The Leicester defender has been in Thomas Tuchel’s sights for quite some time as one of a number of names on his centre-back radar.

Chelsea are desperate to land a second central defender this summer after the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly and losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, though have been thwarted in their attempts to land the likes of Nathan Ake, Matthijs de Ligt and Jules Kounde.

Sky Sports report that the Blues now want Fofana, who is under contract at Leicester until 2027 after signing a new two-year deal in March.

Scamacca to West Ham analysis

Dynamic, fluid forward lines have conquered the Premier League in each of the past three seasons, and perhaps not since Chelsea’s last title win in 2016/17, when a rabid Diego Costa led the charge, have the champions relied on the spearhead of a bustling, bullying striker, writes Malik Ouzia.

The return of their kind has been a theme of the summer window so far, however, and while West Ham can hardly claim to have matched Liverpool and Manchester City’s moves for Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland in pedigree terms, nor have similar aspirations as to where their striking upgrade might take them, the arrival of Gianluca Scamacca has at least seen the Hammers follow the trend.

At six-foot-five, the view in Italy is that Scamacca is unusually well-equipped to take what is still not an especially well-trodden path from Serie A to the Premier League (for all the one headed in the opposite direction is becoming increasingly so).

Physicality and power alone are clearly not enough to guarantee the former Sassuolo forward success in leading the line for a club hoping to disrupt the ‘Big Six’, particularly as, in Michail Antonio, West Ham already have a striker who prides himself on those exact traits and yet has glaring flaws.

Done deal!

West Ham have completed a deal to sign Gianluca Scamacca and finally bolster David Moyes’ attack.
