Transfer news LIVE as Rangers and Celtic plus Hibs, Aberdeen and Hearts eye signings

We’re in the run up to Christmas – and that means it’s almost transfer time.

Celtic look set to be among the busiest buyers in the January sales as Ange Postecoglou looks to raid the J-League.

Reo Hatate looks set to be their first signing of the window and Yosuke Ideguchi and Daizen Maeda could join him at Parkhead.

There could also be some outgoings in Glasgow’s east end, with the club seemingly willing to cut their losses with flop goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas.

For league leaders Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson will be looking for fine tune the squad for Gio van Bronckhorst.

While the Dutchman will have his own players in mind, he will be keen to keep the core of the side together after five wins in six since his arrival.

A January fire sale isn’t required say the board but the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos have been tipped for departures. Connor Goldson’s contract status also remains up in the air.

Hibs are closing in on Shaun Maloney as their new manager and he will need some new faces at Easter Road to kick-start the Premiership campaign.

Hearts have slid away from the top two so Robbie Neilson will be keen for a mid-season recruitment drive with John Souttar’s long-term future in question, and Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass will be knocking on Dave Cormack’s door as the battle for European spots intensifies.

Elsewhere, Manchester United are planning for life without Paul Pogba as he looks set to leave Old Trafford in the summer.
