St Mirren talent Josh Jack makes first appearance for Albion Rovers after making loan switch

St Mirren prospect Josh Jack made his first appearance for Albion Rovers since joining the League Two club on loan.

But he was powerless to help his new side avoid defeat at the hands of Stenhousemuir, who left Cliftonhill on Saturday afternoon with all three points after edging to a 2-1 victory.

Jack, 20, made his debut for the Coatbridge club having recently joined Brian Reid’s outfit until the end of the season.

The St Mirren forward spent the previous campaign on loan with Clyde, with Jim Goodwin hoping the Saints academy graduate will continue his development getting first-team minutes with Albion Rovers.

Elsewhere, fellow academy product Keiran Offord started East Stirlingshire’s comfortable 3-0 victory against Edinburgh University.

The Scottish Lowland League side moved up to seventh in the table with the win, with Offord having returned to the club after a temporary spell back in Paisley in which he made his competitive debut for the Buddies against Celtic.

The talented 19-year-old also made a substitute appearance against Rangers at Ibrox, with Saints academy director Allan McManus predicting big things for both loanees as they continue their progression away from the SMISA Stadium.
