The new era is well underway at Manchester United and Ralf Rangnick is said to be drawing up his list of targets ahead of the January transfer window.

The new interim United boss will be keen to solve the club’s problem defensive midfield position and is said to be lining up a contract offer for star player whose contract expires next summer.

He could also move for a defender who has been nicknamed “gladiator” by his club’s fans, according to reports.

While Marcus Rashford is also said to be considering leaving the club because of the increased competition for places in the starting XI this season.

Man Utd “moving” for midfielder

Manchester United are “moving decisively” for AC Milan midfielder Frank Kessie, it has been reported.

Kessie could be available for a knockdown fee in next month’s January transfer window as the player’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti [via Sport Witness ] reports United are interested in bringing the player to Old Trafford, although they are behind Spurs and PSG in the race as both clubs have already put forward a contract offer worth €10m per-year for the midfielder.

United target “Gladiator”

United are keeping tabs on Feyenoord centre-back Marcos Senesi, it has been reported.

According to, Senesi is also interesting Premier League rivals West Ham United, Aston Villa, Leeds United and Tottenham.

The Argentine, who has been nicknamed “The Gladiator” by Feyenoord fans, is out of contract in 18 month’s time and so could be available for a low fee.

The player is said to be keen to boost his chances of appearing in next summer’s World Cup in Qatar and so could push for a move to the Premier League if the opportunity arises, the report adds.

Marcus Rashford is reportedly “beginning the test the possibility of leaving” Manchester United.

According to Spanish outlet EFE Rashford is attracting interest from Barcelona and he “welcomes the option” of moving to Spain next season.

It is reported that the United forward could look to leave due to the club’s “overbooking of attackers”.

New Barcelona boss Xavi is said to be keen on bringing Rashford to the Nou Camp and could look into signing the United star in the new year.
