“It’s much bloody harder. It’s a little bit mental,” Lewis said on the Uninterrupted podcast, of going through IVF in her late 40s.
“I decided to do this because I was very determined to have this baby on my own and I did not want any dramas.”
She acknowledged there would not be a father in the baby’s life but said the child would have a large support system.
“Obviously, having the sperm donor, there isn’t going to be a present father, but she’s got two godfathers and four godmothers,” she said of her baby girl.
The Laing & Simmons real estate director said, “Everyone thinks I’m crazy… I’ve always wanted three”.
Lewis had her first child at 42, explaining she did not focus on kids until later in life, being “a career girl”.
“It took me a long time through IVF to have my first and it was a struggle,” she said.
“When I had my child it was like a lightbulb moment and I changed forever.”
She described parenting as “one of the most beautiful things in the world”.
On being pregnant at 50, Lewis says it is “much b***** harder,” but has credited her physical fitness for helping her through it.
“Look, my IVF doctor said, ‘If you don’t do it now, then you won’t be able to, because they won’t inseminate after 51,” the real estate agent said.
The reality TV star announced the news in April, posting a sweet video on Instagram.
“Put your hand here,” Lewis said to her daughters in the video, referring to her baby bump.
“Can you feel something?” she asked her.
“Is that a baby?” the young girl said, to which Lewis confirmed that it was.
She captioned the post, “My little family is growing and I couldn’t be happier”.
