Longwood police release horrifying 911 call after girl escapes attack – Orlando Sentinel

The 12-year-old girl who said her father brutally attacked her and killed her sister last week was “leaking blood from her hands, face and legs,” according to a 911 call released Tuesday by the Longwood Police Department.

A concerned bystander at the Mcdonald’s where the girl ran to, called 911 around 5:40 a.m. Thursday morning.

“She’s drenched in blood and bruises and cuts,” he told the 911 dispatcher. “The victim appears to be in shock…she’s just a child.”

The 12-year-old girl walked about a mile to the restaurant where her mother worked to get help, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

At Mcdonald’s, where she eventually reunited with her mother, a store manager was heard asking if help is on the way.

“They slit her throat,” someone yelled in the background.

A woman told the girl, “they’re on their way baby.”

The man on the call told the dispatcher “she’s leaking blood everywhere.”

She later told police her father came at her with a knife, but that she fought him back and eventually acted as if she was dead in hopes he would stop attacking her.

Lt. Bradley Tollas, a spokesperson for the Longwood Police Department, said in an email the girl is receiving treatment at a local hospital and improving.

Her father, Juan Bravo-Torres, 39, was found by officers in his Highland Street home unconscious in the bathroom with his dead 3-year-old daughter. Bravo-Torres had “extensive injuries” to his torso, the affidavit said. Authorities previously said his injuries appeared to be “self-inflicted knife wounds.”

According to the report, officers said they found an “extensive amount of blood” in the residence.

Bravo-Torres was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

The 12-year-old girl told officers she was sleeping in her brother’s room when she felt Bravo-Torres reach for her neck, according to the affidavit. She thought her dad was reaching for her necklace — instead he “sliced her throat,” the report said.

After unsuccessfully getting away, she tried playing dead. That’s when Bravo-Torres dragged her and her younger sister into the bathroom, turned off the lights, and cut his wrists and throat, the report said.
