Hiker’s body found in Hawaii state park, police say

The frame of a lacking hiker was once came upon days after he went lacking from a Hawaii state park, police mentioned.

Moses “Lono” Gardner of Lawa’i disappeared on May 8 from the paths within the Koke’e State Park off Miloli’i Ridge Road, the Kaua’i Police Department mentioned in a Facebook publish.

His frame was once discovered round 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, within the Ku‘Ia Natural Reserve area, police said.

Search and rescue teams started looking for Gardner after he was reported missing but halted rescue operation three days later after not finding him, police said.

Department of Land and Natural Resource’s Division of Forestry and Wildlife staff discovered his frame within the afternoon day after today as they have been doing regimen box operations, police mentioned.

The investigation is ongoing, however foul play isn’t suspected, police mentioned.

“We, as a bureau, again convey our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. While this isn’t the outcome we had hoped for, we hope this information brings closure to all those affected,” police Investigative Services Bureau Acting Capt. Chris Calio mentioned.
