AGAIN TOMORROW. AND THEN THE PATTERN CHANGES. THAT STORY, STRAIGHT AHEAD. SUMMER: WE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW BREAKING NEWS IN ORANGE COUNTY TONIGHT. FIRE HAS CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO A BUILDING ON JMT INDUSTRIAL DRIVE, JUST WEST OF 441 AND SOUTH OF 414. THE FIRE TRIGGERED A HUGE RESPONSE FROM ORANGE COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS. JIM: WESH 2’S DAVE MCDANIEL IS LIVE AT THE SCENE WITH THE LATEST. LOOKS LIKE FIREFIGHTERS HAVE A GOOD HANDLE ON THIS. DAVE: THEY HAVE BEEN PUTTING A LOT OF WATER ON IT AND THE FIRE IS MUCH LESS THAN IT WAS BEFORE. THIS AFTERNOON THE FLAMES WERE ENORMOUS. THE BLACK SMOKE IS LIKELY TIRES. THIS IS AN AUTO REPAIR BUSINESS. BLACK SMOKE WAS ROLLING INTO THE ATMOSPHERE. RIGHT NOW THERE IS A STRONG STENCH. IT IS DIFFICULT TO BREATHE. THICK, HEAVY SMOKE. WE WANT TO SHOW YOU A LIVE VIEW. THEY ARE PUTTING MORE WATER ON THE FIRE AND TRYING TO KNOCK IT DOWN. THEY WILL BE ON SCENE ALL NIGHT TO TRY TO GET IT COMPLETELY OUT. A BAD STORM ROLLED THROUGH JUST WHEN THE FIRE STARTED. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THIS COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY LIGHTNING. >> THE FIRE MARSHAL WILL COME OUT AND DETERMINE THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE. BUT SOME HAVE SAID A STORM CAME THROUGH AND JUST THE TIMING OF IT, IT COULD BE A LIGHTNING STRIKE, BUT THAT HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED. DAVE: BUT A DISTINCT POSSIBILITY . A LOT OF LIGHTNING WAS IN THE STORMS THAT ROLLED THROUGH. DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING IS EXTENSIVE. PARTS OF THE ROOT COLLAPSED — PARTS OF THE ROOF COLLAPSED. THE OWNER TRIED TO PUT THE FIRE OUT BY HIMSELF BUT IT WAS TOO BIG. THEN THE 911 CALLS STARTED COMING IN.
