Dana White fails to rule out Jake Paul fighting within UFC despite duo’s ugly row

Dana White appears open to the possibility of Jake Paul fighting in the UFC – despite there being little love lost between the pair.

The promotion’s supremo refused to rule out the possibility of allowing the YouTuber to compete under its branding when asked about it on a podcast appearance.

White and Paul have been engaged in a long-running feud over social media which has turned ugly at times.

It began with swipes from Paul over pay for UFC fighters and low PPV numbers.

But has descended to the point where the social media star accused White of taking cocaine, and the businessman responded with an accusation about steroids.

Paul has had some success in the professional boxing world – despite still never facing anyone who has prior experience in the sport – and is apparently mulling over the idea of a future in MMA.

While White has not ruled out the possibility of allowing Paul to fight in the UFC, he doesn’t seem all that keen on continuing to discuss the YouTuber.

“It’s not that he doesn’t have my respect, I don’t even know the kid,” White told the FULL SEND podcast.

“To be honest with you, right here right now, this is the last time you’ll hear me talking about him. I’m done with it.

“Would I let him (in the UFC)? Well, he can do whatever he wants to do. I don’t know. I don’t think that would ever happen but listen, I never say never anymore.”

Despite having no professional MMA experience, Paul has previously called out the likes of Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor in the past.

White has previously laughed off those suggestions, but cannot seem to shake off the social media personality who continues to fire jibes in his direction.

Retired former UFC champion Henry Cejudo has tried to use the situation to his advantage, offering to “beat up” Paul for free if White will give him a title shot.

“Hey @danawhite Pay me to fight Alex and I’ll beat up Jake Paul for free,” the 34-year-old Tweeted, in the hope of being granted a shot at featherweight title-holder Alex Volkanovski.

Cejudo hopes to become the promotion’s first ever three-weight champion, having previously been the owner of belts at flyweight and bantamweight.

White, however, appears to be against the idea of granting Cejudo a title shot straight away, having been absent from UFC for almost two years.
