Disturbing footage has shown hundreds of anti-vaxxers gathering together for military-style training boot camp in Staffordshire. The group – known as Alpha Men Assemble – is led by ex-military men and claims they are at war with the government. The anti-vaccine group has pledged to step up direct action efforts in the coming months by targeting vaccine centres, schools, and councils.
Alpha Men Assemble has about 7,500 members of their Telegram social media channel.
Channel 4 News reporter Paraic O’Brien said: “This is one of a number of training sessions they have organised.
“What unites them is the belief that the pandemic is an orchestrated exercise in curtailing freedom and that vaccinations are a tool of super-state control.
“There is talk of direct action in the weeks to come.”
Gary Ross, one of the trainers, is ex-military and wore a green Royal Irish Regiment beret.
He told the men at the training camp he had worked in military and counter-terrorism for 15 years.
Speaking to Channel 4 News, Mr Ross said: “This is team-building.
“At the end of the day, we are a number of individuals who don’t know each other, and like any military unit you have to bond and become together to work as one.”
Other targets of direct action include the police, politicians, and “anybody else deemed to be complicit”.
Last month, dozens of anti-vaxxers stormed an NHS testing centre in Milton Keynes.
The anti-vaccine protesters shouted abuse at staff and appeared to damage equipment.
They could be heard accusing staff of “genocide” and some were chanting “shame on you”.
